Unionized Ford workers in Louisville, Kentucky, and General Motors employees from Spring Hill, Tennessee, have voted no on the contract agreement reached by the United Auto Workers. & On Monday, production workers at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant voted against the tentative agreement.

Last week 8,700 union members walked out at the largest and most profitable Ford plant in the world , the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville. Ford said the strike at the Kentucky plant is harming tens of thousands of Americans who work for parts suppliers and Ford dealers.

In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009. General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. Batteries not ready. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs.
