Recent announcements demonstrate that electric utilities and some auto makers want to make V2G a reality. Hybrid electric buses and heavy trucks could power many homes or a school or a hospital in an emergency.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Then consider that in order to actually go any farther than the neighbood store, one still had to have ANOTHER car. run the hardware store and buy a new one.
