Dear DIY EV community, I am working on a conversion to create a BMW 2002e in celebration of the first electric BWM from 1972. My story is that I believe in EV's and have a strong connection to the BMW 1602/2002. My aim is to meet the 50th anniversary of this visionary vehicle in 2022.

Hi all, I am beginning an EV conversion with a mini cooper from the early 2000s (I'm still trying to choose which year I want but I know it's going to be a model from 2002 - 2010) and I'm trying to make my first purchase for either one or two potentiometers.

It's a 2002 Saturn SL1 with 220,000 miles and a rough engine, however it still runs. I have bought my donor car. The price was $900 which was OK I think? I have been looking for ages on Craigslist for the right car and toyed with all sort of cars. In the end I went with what was available and what I could afford.

Currently our team is taking apart a 2002 Honda Odyssey Mini-van and we are converting it into an ALL ELECTRIC not just a HYBRID. There is a tremendous community that has to rely on Mini-vans for transportation and would also give an answer to the excuse of "oh, I don't want an Electric car because they are all small automobiles."

Months later, in 2002, Bob and I finally had a set of electronics put together, with the right motors figured out, and we were ready to take a crack at making it balance and drive around. Bender the Balancing Robot, built in 2002. He then showed me a video of a robot that could balance on two wheels, and I thought it was amazing.

He passed away from diabetes-related complications in 2002. Then there are the many, many DIY projects underway.
