Researchers at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) have identified two compressed air energy storage methods for the temporary storage of the Northwest’s excess wind power and two eastern Washington locations to put them into practice.

Through the use of renewable energy, Nissan Mexicana has prevented 152,800 tons of CO 2 from entering the atmosphere, and has so far assembled 460,000 vehicles with wind power and 57,400 vehicles with biogas power from the city’s landfills. In all, the use of clean energies accounted for 68% of the production at the Aguascalientes A1 Plant.

It is the second such venture between the two companies, following the announcement last month that they are teaming up with Mazda Motor Corporation on a similar system using vehicles converted to electric drive using a platform designed and built by EnerDel and its partner THINK, which will be stationed at a Family Mart convenience store.

Frank didn’t mention anything about the different cities like Portland and San Jose to name a couple who are building the first wave of plug in infrastructure. The Focus is supposed to get 100 miles to a charge, but Frank is very worried about where people are going to plug in their cars. Maybe Frank is in the dark on those.
