There are multiple interesting aspects to the vehicle, including GM’s rationale for offering fast charging as an option (it’s not to go across country), but one of the most manifest when driving the car (aside from the “Wheee!” Currently, DOE data suggests that 90% of charging is done at home. no garage or car port in apartments, etc.

Price tag: about $25,000, made from 95% recyclable materials with a top speed of 65 miles per hour and range of 110 miles per charge. Kulongoski, Oregon as the electric-car manufacturer may be eyeing the “green” city of Portland. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is building fleet charging stations in Portland and Phoenix.

Not to be outdone, on Tuesday the Norwegian electric car startup, Think, was in Portland being wooed by the state as one of 8 potential places to site their first car manufacturing facility in the United States. The big problems now is how to create a battery that can charge rapidly and infrastructure to charge them.
