The selected projects are located in Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden. Another one located in Poland will create an end-to-end carbon capture and storage chain starting from CO? capture and liquefaction at a cement plant to storage in offshore sites.

Now, most of these materials are stored or sent back to landfills. SGH2 is in negotiations to launch similar projects in France, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Turkey, Russia, China, Brazil, Malaysia and Australia.

In the future, 100% of additional purchased electricity will come from verifiable renewable sources, such as wind- and hydropower. In Jawor (Poland), a new CO 2 -neutral engine plant is being built. This corresponds to about three quarters of the required electricity in the German plants. The plant will start operating in 2019.

The obvious answer might be solar and wind. Poland has begun forging ahead with French-backed plans to build a half dozen nuclear reactors by 2043.
