The plant will feature SGH2’s technology, which will gasify recycled mixed paper waste to produce green hydrogen that reduces carbon emissions by two to three times more than green hydrogen produced using electrolysis and renewable energy, and is five to seven times cheaper. The facility will process 42,000 tons of recycled waste annually.

The selected projects are located in Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden. Another one located in Poland will create an end-to-end carbon capture and storage chain starting from CO? Other selection criteria included the projects’ potential for scalability and cost effectiveness.

In Jawor (Poland), a new CO 2 -neutral engine plant is being built. The production hall uses renewable energy and reduces water consumption and waste significantly. In Kecskemét (Hungary), a second plant under construction will be CO 2 -neutral. The plant will start operating in 2019.

Poland has begun forging ahead with French-backed plans to build a half dozen nuclear reactors by 2043. France, naturally, backed nuclear power’s green-ness.
