We’ve seen electric sedans, sports cars, crossovers, and even pickup trucks, but there’s one segment of the market that’s been left out: minivans. The only minivans I’ve seen are the Nissan ENV-200 work van and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (a PHEV).

Kia on Friday announced pricing for the 2025 Niro Hybrid and Niro PHEV. An all-electric Niro EV will remain part of the lineup for 2025, but prices will be announced at a later date. 2025 Kia Niro The Niro PHEV is available only in EX and SX Touring grades , priced at $35,865 and $42,165 with destination, respectively.

It shouldn’t be surprising when you scan the list of EVs (particularly the down-list models where there are several Audis and BMWs as well as the pricey GMC Hummer ), but the average sales price for an EV during the first half of the year was $66,000, according to Kelly Blue Book.
