The city of Houston is set to receive the first Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Buy America-compliant mid-size autonomous bus in the US. Jointly developed by Phoenix Motorcars and EasyMile , the EZ Zeus self-driving bus will be deployed in real-life traffic conditions.

Nikola Corporation announced the product launch of the Nikola Badger electric pickup truck with an estimated range of 600 miles. The Badger was designed to handle 0-100 mph launches with minimal loss of performance and to operate on grades up to 40% through advanced software blending of batteries and fuel-cell. 300 miles on BEV alone.

While San Francisco was one of Waymo’s early testing sites, it is lagging behind the Phoenix metropolitan region in terms of autonomous ride-hailing commercialization. Because in 2017, Waymo began providing rides to Phoenix residents and though the company didn’t make considerable money, the program is said to be a success.
