We signed agreements to bring Level 2 charging to Arcos Dorados’s McDonalds franchises in Puerto Rico and to bring DC fast charging to Royal Farms convenience stores in the Mid-Atlantic. In February, Blink teamed up with Hertz to provide free EV charging to Hertz customers in Phoenix, Arizona during the big game weekend.

Electric school buses equipped with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology also have tremendous potential as “batteries on wheels” that can store electricity and provide it to the grid or to buildings when needed. In Europe , the electric bus is flourishing, with a 48% increase in registrations in 2021 compared to 2020.

If your system isn’t grid-tied, meaning you’re literally “off the grid&# then it needs to be battery-based so you can store the energy you generate during the day to use after the sun goes down. You can add a battery back up system to your grid-tied solar system but most folks don’t choose to do so.
