With a 10 kW charger on-board (SAE J1772 connector), charging time of the large pack is approximately six hours on a 240V/40A charger. Leviton offers multiple options for charging solutions.

Toyota held its first media briefing and drive for the RAV4 EV ( earlier post ), due to go on sale later this year in California. The converted RAV4 is the result of the partnership between Toyota and Tesla Motors announced in May 2010; Toyota has contracted for 2,600 units. kWh of useable energy at full charge.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? takes time to build this new market and re-coup their investment.
