Sales volumes last month were up year over year by more than 6% but down from December, thanks in part to improved supply and added fleet sales. High loan rates and continued inflationary pressures appear to be hurting the lower part of the market, so automakers are more focused on luxury and higher-end models.

Sales volumes in December were up year-over-year by more than 5% but down from November, due in part to improved supply. Luxury brands Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, and Volvo showed the least price strength, selling 1% or more below MSRP in December. Elevated prices and high loan rates are putting downward pressure on sales.

Lexus LX600: Not a bad car by any means, and there are likely plenty of buyers for it. While it’s not as legendary of a nameplate as other icons of motoring, the Pathfinder was once a rugged body-on-frame SUV that could go just about anywhere, it’s now a minivan without the utility of a minivan. These are my worst of the year.

The automaker recently notified parts suppliers that it intends to roll out about 800,000 hybrids domestically in 2010, with the figure to be raised to around 900,000 in 2011 and roughly 1.1 Toyota currently sells more than 10 hybrids, including dedicated models such as the Prius, Sai and Lexus HS 250h. million in 2012.

Asian brands, led by Lexus, Toyota, and Mazda, in that order, continue to be the best for new car reliability in CR’s survey, which is the largest of its kind. When compared to the average non-turbo engine among 2016-2018 models, overall, Lexus makes the most reliable turbo powertrain, followed by Honda and Porsche.

Tesla powertrains are now pretty solid for the most part, but Tesla owners report a lot of build quality issues including irregular paint, broken trim, door handles that don’t work, and trunks that don’t close. SUVs, crossovers, and minivans were next. All of these pull down the brand’s reliability score.”
