Jaguar Land Rover has partnered with Pramac , a global leader in the energy sector, to develop a portable zero-emission energy storage unit powered by second-life Jaguar I-PACE batteries. Pramac directly reuses up to 85% of the vehicle battery supplied by Jaguar Land Rover within the storage unit, including modules and wiring.

Led by strong growth in Spain and Italy, new car registrations in Europe’s Big 5 markets grew by 8.6% million, April produced further gains across the top five European markets with SUVs driving higher volume and counting for 24.4% The appeal of SUVs continues to gain further momentum at the expense of more traditional models.

In terms of segments, SUVs continued to grow their market share, with their registrations in July accounting for more than a quarter of the total market (25.8%). The drop in traditional segments outweighed the growth of SUVs, with large/luxury cars, city-cars and MPVs posting the biggest losses of the month. Spain grew 4.4%

Among the big markets, electrified vehicles counted for almost 19% in France, 14% in the UK, 12% in Spain, 10% in Germany and 8% in Italy. By brand, these cars represented an important part of the volume registered by Smart (96%), Lexus and Toyota (95% and 66% respectively), DS (42%), Suzuki (41%) and Land Rover (37%).

As usual, the rankings were dominated by Toyota and Lexus, but there were notable results from Mercedes, which came third, and Land Rover, whose new Evoque model became the 5 th best-selling HEV during the month. Consumers bought 505,900 SUVs in July, as demand increased by 8.7%.

The company also unveiled three new production vehicles at the Auto Expo 2012: the Tata Safari Storme, the new generation Safari SUV; the Tata Ultra, the company’s new LCV & ICV range; and the Tata LPT 3723, India’s first 5-axle rigid truck as well. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover. 1,23,133 crores ($27 billion) in 2010-11.
