I took the day off to walk around Portland to the farmers market and EV awareness day with Krista. This was originally just a human powered vehicle made in Belgium, but the owner added an electric motor to power the rear third wheel to get up the hills in Portland (of which there aren't many in Belgium).

I ran out to United Welding Supply today in Portland (on NE MLK) and picked up 20 feet of 2/0 welding cable. a foot, that's the best price I've seen in the Portland area by far. They recycle a lot of uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) which often contain high-current Anderson connectors on the dead batteries.

The basis for the "Spirit of DC" staying over in Arizona through the winter results from the gifting of a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery pack and charger from Delaware Power Systems out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Note: the Green Train leave on its six week venture from Portland and is en route to DC.
