If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Then consider that in order to actually go any farther than the neighbood store, one still had to have ANOTHER car. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
