Hybrid Options. The all-wheel drive 2023 Crown comes with two hybrid engine choices. The base, in the XLE and Unlimited trims, is simply called Hybrid. The more powerful Hybrid Max, only available in the Platinum model, is a turbocharged 2.4-liter seconds while the Hybrid comes in at 7.6 A country cruiser.

In a post on Toyota’s Open Road blog, Irv Miller, Toyota Group Vice President – Environmental and Public Affairs, wrote that contrary to some recent reports, Toyota has yet to offer mileage estimates on its plug-in hybrid technology. They are very early “converted” prototypes using double nickel-metal hydride batteries.

The Toyota Prius has come a long way since it debuted 22 years ago as the first hybrid car to be sold in the United States. The initial skepticism from many amounted to—“What the hell is a hybrid car?” liter gasoline engine with a lithium-ion battery that replaces the nickel-metal hydride battery from the previous generations.

just pondering another Plug-in Hybrid EV EVdventure of sorts per the new 2010 Prius PHEV press release. The Prius PHEV has already made its European debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show debut, and Toyota is doing its American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. before trucking back to Home Sweet Bisbee.
