Electric vehicle battery production is growing in Thailand, with manufacturing plants operated by SAIC, Honda, Toyota and a recently announced Mercedes production facility.

plans to assemble the hybrid version of its Fit subcompact in Thailand starting this summer—its first production in Asia of hybrids outside of Japan. liter car is to be released locally as the Jazz Hybrid as early as the summer. Currently, all Fit Hybrids are manufactured in Japan.

Sumitomo Corporation together with Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (collectively, SC Group) announced a strategic collaboration agreement with US Hybrid to grow US Hybrid’s fuel cell production business through the expansion of fuel cell stack production capacity. US Hybrid introduced the “freeze-capable” 80 kW unit in May.
