Toshiba to supply Li-ion battery energy storage system for frequency regulation project in US

Toshiba Corporation has received an order to supply a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) for a power frequency regulation project in Hamilton, Ohio. Toshiba’s BESS, integrating an array of 6MW-2MWh SCiB lithium-ion batteries, will be delivered in November, and the system is scheduled to start operation in December.

Akasol manufacturing Li-ion systems for Daimler Citaro electric bus; Samsung cells

Germany-based Akasol is manufacturing lithium-ion battery systems for Daimler subsidiary EvoBus. Akasol believes that this is currently Europe’s largest production plant for commercial vehicle lithium-ion battery systems. Akasol has developed and sold a range of battery systems for electric and hybrid buses for years.
