Among electric vehicles from automakers that report specific sales numbers for their EV models, the Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV was tops in the US in 2021 with 27,3707 units sold. Another top-selling EV beyond Tesla models that is not included is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV, which likely saw 2021 sales of between 20,000-25,000.

Electric Vehicle PR Is Driving Up the Stock Price. These announcements and PR efforts are fundamentally about GM’s long-term future but they have clearly paid off in the short term as GM’s stock price has increased 55.3% Hence the focus on high-end models such as the GMC Hummer and Cadillac LYRIQ.

For electric vehicles, the BBBA includes multiple proposed changes to IRC 30D, more commonly knows as the federal EV tax credit. Perhaps the mostly likely is the requirement for EVs to be assembled in the US in a union factory to qualify for an additional $4,500 tax credit. Tax Credit Becomes Refundable. More on this below.
