Unfortunately, car companies in India like Maruti, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Renault, Kia, and Volkswagen have not launched even a single electric car. The Japanese giants, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, are in denial, whereas the Americans giants, Ford and GM, are floundering. These are the real facts. In India, car makers have no clue.

A free car on a four-year plan in France is another idea mentioned by Shai Agassi, CEO of Project Better Place. So while my car is powering the great city during the day how will I have juice to drive home at the end of the day? The idea is that when your car needs more energy, you can drive your car into a station and, like an automated car wash, your depleted battery is replaced robotically by one that has a full charge. Maybe you should ask some engineers at the local power utility before you go shooting your mouth off, decrying how the idea will never fly.

For on-the-go juice ups, the idea is to exchange your dead battery for a fresh one owned by Better Place. My Honda Civic averages 34+ MPG over a year period. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Honda has probably sold more Civics in a year than the combined total of all 18 of those GM models. If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do you see that?
