With General Motors and Chrysler also showing signs of modest improvement, all looked rosy. Well, it seems that Americans, while not necessarily ‘over’ their love of large, gas guzzling cars, are at least taking steps in the right direction. At least that was until analysts started to delve a little deeper.

Volvo believes the principal of hybrid cars being exempt from the charge is outdated. DRIVe with start/stop technology (pictured below) emits a mere 104g/km of CO2 and was recently named as the What Car? Green Car of the Year. Currently, only alternative fuel vehicles are exempt from the London Congestion Charge.
