US Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced that to date, more than 1,800 electric vehicle chargers have been installed under the Recovery Act. The event marked the installation of the 500 th electric vehicle (EV) charger by Coulomb, which received a $15-million award under the Recovery Act. Southern Michigan; and Washington, DC.

Like the Recovery Act-funded projects, the annual Clean Cities projects include grants for vehicles, infrastructure, and education. The charge stations and installations were paid for with federal stimulus and California Energy Commission grants won by Coulomb. And if you're located in California, the California Energy Commission portion of the grant to Coulomb will pay for installation. ChargePoint America is looking for hosts for charge stations.
