The Financial Times reports that Uber will invest $500 million into a global mapping project in an effort to decrease its dependence on Google Maps and to prepare for autonomous driving. The FT cited “ a person familiar with Uber’s plans ” as the source. This summer they hit the road in Mexico. —Brian McClendon.

I’d probably choose a non-Morizo package as I still have people who like me and would want to ride with me, but that Toyota can build and sell such an uncompromising car (five-door hatch with just two seats!)
