Under this competition, EPA anticipates awarding between 40 and 70 assistance agreements. Applicants may apply until 16 March 2021.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of $26 million in grant funding to establish clean diesel projects aimed at reducing emissions from the US’ existing fleet of diesel engines. Region 2 (New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands): EPA is requesting proposals between $500,000 and $1,800,000.

The testing of the US-spec vehicles certified to the US Tier 2 Bin 5/California LEV II standard was commissioned to West Virginia University (WVU) by the ICCT.). If applied to the entire new vehicle fleet, this would correspond to an on-road level of about 560 mg/km of NO x (compared to the regulatory limit under Euro 6 of 80 mg/km).
