Philadelphia’s public media organization WHYY, also the local PBS and NPR station, reports that the regional public transportation authority SEPTA has sidelined its entire fleet of 25 Proterra electric buses since February 2020. Proterra maintains that SEPTA’s fleet will be put back into service eventually.

EPA also found that the California program meets legal requirements regarding the protectiveness of public health and welfare as well as technological feasibility. The national program ramps up slightly more slowly than the California program envisioned, but does get to the same fleet average endpoint.

The 13 states are: Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. EPA estimates that the national programme will cut greenhouse gas emissions from the light duty fleet by 19 per cent by 2030.

Audi sees the potential for the use of CO 2 -neutral fuels to reduce fleet CO 2 emissions. Audi operates a research facility in Hobbs, New Mexico for the production of e-ethanol and e-diesel in partnership with Joule. In addition to the technology, however, regulatory progress would need to be made to recognize the gains.
