Combined with AC Transit’s already-installed solar capacity, this solar installation will produce the renewable electricity equivalent to what will be required to produce 180 kg/day of green hydrogen.

The battery can be recharged by plugging the car into any electrical socket and allows the Prius to run entirely on electricity for speeds up to 34 miles per hour. Both cars will be subject to the new CARB rules, but GM and Toyota should have no problem affording the rigorous tests or financing the warranty requirements.

Last week, at the Model S unveiling in Los Angeles, Tesla revealed that an optional “ QuickCharg e &# battery would get a full charge in 45 minutes from a 480V outlet. For the standard version, Tesla plans to use a battery that can recharge at a typical 220V outlet in about four hours. I asked Mike Omotoso, J.D.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. Think of driving any vehicle in the hot Los Angeles summer time.
