The technology improves a vehicle’s US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) city fuel economy by 25%, providing a three-year payback in heavy use fleet applications, or immediate savings when combined with vehicle financing, according to XL. XL Hybrids was founded by MIT alumni and is based in Boston.
