Im hoping for a tariff drop to zero so I don’t have to pay import taxes. Come join the discussion about electric vehicle conversions, builds, performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! Problem now is the tariffs are super high right now and have to put off buying one until they come back down.

Understanding EV Maintenance Since EVs don’t use oil or transmission fluid, they require less frequent maintenance than ICE vehicles or hybrids. However, a plug-in hybrid EV still has more components and moving parts that require maintenance, which increases its overall carbon footprint for both manufacturing and ownership.

Also maintenance on these (no oil changes to speak of) etc will cost much less than an internal combution propelled car. The high cost of manufacturing the Volt is exactly why the tax credits of $2500 for a vehicle with 4 kWh of battery capacity and $417 for every kWh over 4 (so that there is a $7500 credit for the Volt) were legislated.
