The Honda Insight may have outsold the Toyota Prius in April, but it still can’t seem to escape the shadow of its more renowned rival. Research from Nielsen has found that since Honda started selling its new hybrid car, 61 per cent of people who held online discussions about it also mentioned the Prius.

Honda, sold 29,958 units, which is an eight per cent increase compared to 2008, largely due to the introduction of the Honda Insight Hybrid. Toyota sold 144,351 units during the first nine months of 2009, although this is a 28 per cent drop on the same period last year.
