Unfortunately, consumer tax incentives for the purchase of plug in hybrids were not included. Although consumer tax credits for PHEVs enjoyed bipartisan support in both houses of Congress, concerns over other tax portions of the energy bill resulted in the entire tax package being removed from the original bill.

Eliminate state sales tax on vehicle purchase; Commit/fund government fleet purchases (200 vehicles). —Ed State Government.

EPRI-Daimler-Chrysler Plug-In Hybrid Development Program : Daimler-Chrysler, working with EPRI and others, has produced a small number of PHEV (15-passenger) Dodge Sprinter vans for fleet testing purposes. If you are interested in this program, please contact the Electric Transportation Department at EPRI.

The charging infrastructure area will be a difficult one for businesses, noted Mark Duvall, Director Electric Transportation, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), in his session. Reports from various efforts at the conference suggested that the current process for that type of installation can be time-consuming and less than seamless.
