In early 2000, when GM announced it had ceased production of the EV1, it signaled that the automaking establishment was abandoning battery electric cars.

Fleet vehicles typically get crappy mileage and cost the fleet owners too much money in fuel and maintenance. He was the lead guy on the EV1 battery team and now he’s the head honcho of Bright. Another thing happening right now is the Plug-In movement addressing fleet vehicles.
