Open Source Civic EV Kit

After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversion kit for a commonly used car. All the commercially available freeway-capable (70 mph) EVs are priced way out of reach for the average consumer.

NASA has given the final approval to proceed with the Dragonfly mission to Saturn’s Moon Titan with a launch scheduled for July 2028 and arriving at Titan in 2034. This approval gives teams the funding needed to complete the final design, construction, and pre-flight testing of all systems. Questions or comments?

The brand died in 2009 as GM declared bankruptcy, restructured with US government backing, and jettisoned not only Hummer but also Pontiac, Saab and Saturn. the Hummer’s claimed 0-to-60-mph acceleration time of about 3 seconds is nothing less than eye-opening for a vehicle likely weighing up to 3 tons. At the recent SAE 2009 World Congress in Detroit, General Motors engineers presented the first front-wheel-drive (FWD) iteration of their two-mode hybrid transaxle, termed the 2MT70 ( earlier post ), scheduled for its first application in the Saturn 2009 VUE 2-Mode Hybrid light sport-utility vehicle later this year ( earlier post ).

The Saturn version of the two-mode plug-in hybrid at the Milford Proving Grounds. One of the designers called Buick “ premium without being pretentious ” Buick appears to be targeting a Lexus like experience. The Enclave was the first step in the “ renaissance of the Buick brand ” as mentioned by another designer. by Bill Cooke.
