Four chargers at the first Starbucks location in Provo, Utah (East Bay – University & 9 th , 979 S University Ave.) It will mark the start of a pilot plan announced last March to electrify a major thoroughfare that opens electric vehicle travel between four critical markets including Seattle, Boise, Salt Lake City and Denver.

The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). Fleets include transportation authorities, cities, school districts, the University of Michigan, FedEx, and Meijer. Total DOE award: $15,000,000. Total DOE award: $14,970,144. Total DOE award: $12,975,388.

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) would combine today’s new gas-electric hybrid technology with larger batteries that could provide an all-electric operating range of 25 to 35 miles or more. The result is an 80+ mile-per-gallon vehicle — with even greater fuel economy possible utilizing bio-fuels.

Mr. Moore made available his Papillion home’s historic dryer outlet as a recharging site when the roadtrip reached the vicinity of Omaha, Nebraska. This effort was led by Georg Kuhnke, who lives near Sacramento, California.
