Honda's two-motor Accord Plug-In Hybrid is now on sale at select New York and Californian Honda dealers. Choice in the plug-in hybrid market is growing all the time, and the Accord offers buyers an alternative to the Ford Fusion Energi--not to mention more established plug-ins like the Chevrolet Volt and Toyota Prius Plug-In.

A study by researchers at the Institute of Transportation Studies, UC Davis finds that buyers of plug-in vehicles (PEVs) are substantially less satisfied with the dealer purchase experience than buyers of conventional vehicles—with the notable exception of Tesla buyers. In some cases, dealers outright discouraged PEV purchases.

Combined reported US hybrid sales (from Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM and Nissan) in April totalled 21,735 units, a 45.5% General Motors dealers in the United States delivered 173,007 vehicles in April, down 34% compared with a year ago. In April, the Ford Fusion paced the share performance with record sales of 18,321. General Motors.

Sales of the Fusion and Milan hybrid sedans reached 1,686 units in December, representing 8.0% of all Fusion and Milan sales. Honda reported December hybrid sales of 2,110 units, a 103.5% Total Honda sales for December increased 24.5% For the calendar year, Honda’s hybrid sales rose 13% to 35,692 units.
