The Niro isn’t plugged in to recharge the battery but does have a very efficient regenerative charging system that converts kinetic energy into electric energy, when applying the brakes or coasting, and stores it in the battery. Most EVs are hampered from driving long distances by the gap between charging stations and the time it takes to recharge their batteries, which have limited range. You have to drive through strange neighborhoods and try to locate chargers in vast parking lots where GPS is known to drop out of service.

The pure electric vehicles, for reserve, must carry heavy and expensive batteries—which add expense as well as weight—and must have access to high-powered recharging stations [ 1 ].
