With an announced on sale date of spring 2023, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is slowly getting attention from full-size pickup owners. Clean Fleet Report wanted to give an update as we are one year out from seeing the Silverado EV in Chevrolet dealerships. This review highlights the status of the Silverado EV as of May 2022.

The aggressive and sporty design of the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer RS AWD seems to have accomplished what Chevrolet had in mind when they gave it Corvette styling cues —it is a head-turner as you cruise around town. fuel economy at 19 mpg city/26 highway/21 combined, with one mile more on the highway for the FWD model.

In less than half a year since then, Chevrolet has introduced two larger all-electric SUVs, the Blazer EV and Equinox EV , as well as the Silverado EV pickup. Bolt EUV has respectable handling considering it comes with all-season 215/50 Michelin Energy Saver 17-inch tires that are designed for low rolling-resistance and not performance.

It is like incentivizing automakers to produce ICE vehicles with larger gas tanks instead of a higher MPG rating. Add in state and utility incentives and the Lightning could cost $3,000-$6,000 less than the XL version.
