The 260-kilometer, 320-kilovolt high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission system, based on technology from Hitachi Energy , in Zurich, marks a milestone in an ongoing transformation of the European power grid: It will plug into the first truly dynamic multiterminal HVDC network in Europe.

Most of today’s hydrogen use is grey; Blue: during the steam reforming process, a high proportion of carbon generated is captured and stored underground. For example, converting a two-engine turboprop from kerosene to hydrogen, increases the weight of the engine from two tonnes to 13 tonnes. This is classified as carbon free hydrogen.

On the European power grid, the battery pack can be fully charged in just 3 hours at a wall box with a current of 50 ampere at 230/240 volts. The MINI E, of which some 600 were produced, is currently being used by private customers in the states of California, New York and New Jersey as well as at several European locations.
