General Motors said that it will offer all of its Buick franchise dealers in the U.S. Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred, told WSJ that shifting to EVs will require significant investments by Buick dealers. However, Buick and GM would probably lobby the states to allow them to sell directly to consumers.

Notably, the Avis partnership was not directly with GM this time but negotiated through Zexel.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). GM says that this is part of its plan to gain exposure for the vehicle and the Chevrolet brand.
