Flash Drive: 2023 Toyota Prius Prime PHEV Plug-in Hybrid Technology in an All-New Package Toyota is taking the lead suggesting how you should drive a plug-in hybrid. The all-new 2023 Prius Prime gets two less miles per gallon in hybrid mode than the 2022 model, but the all-electric driving range has increased substantially.

The Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, unveiled at the 2016 New York International Auto Show in March ( earlier post ), features a larger 8.8 In hybrid mode, the Prius Prime exceeds all competitors’ fuel economy ratings with EPA-estimated 55 city/53 highway/54 combined MPG. Pricing starts at $27,100.

Hell, even the Honda Civic Type R is supposed to yield 36 mpg on the highway when the C-HR was only able to manage 31 mpg. The new model is clearly designed by the same team that worked up the all-new Toyota Prius. The PHEV is a little faster at 7.4 Would that remain true if we had held out for the second generation?

Their Rechargeit.org campaign really makes the connections between renewable power and plug-in cars. The plug-in Priuses are almost doubling the fuel efficiency of Google standard Prius fleet, getting 74 MPG rather than 41 MPG. nk it Over Recently I posted about how Google.org gets it.

Although the EPA has not as of this writing released the final fuel economy numbers for the US A3 e-tron, Filip Brabec, Director, Product Management, Audi of America, said that the figures will be around 83 to 86 MPGe combined (depending on the equipment level), with 35 to 39 mpg gasoline only and 16-17 miles of EV range.
