The new charging station is suitable for electric models of all brands with the European standard Type 2 variant of the widely used Combined Charging System (CCS), and is now available for use free of charge. Initiated in July 2016, the Fast Charge research project has received €7.8 million (US$8.9 450 kW, the second gives up to 175 kW.

An updated roadmap for the Smart Grid is now available from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which recently finished reviewing and incorporating public comments into the NIST Framework and Roadmap for Smart Grid Interoperability Standards, Release 2.0. At the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 2009 World Congress, an update was presented of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle standards that are being revised by the SAE Hybrid Standards Committee. A separate standard will be developed for the European market.
