EAA Board of Director member Jerry Asher joined the caravan and provided support with the “Spirit of DC” Plug-in Toyota Prius hybrid. The conference room and hotel parking lot were also provided to help stage an Electric Vehicle Fiesta on Tuesday, July 28 th from 9 AM to noon.

Howard’s team is holding a conference on June 24th for city managers throughout the county that I’ll be attending. To put that in perspective for you, if Los Angeles County were a state, it would rank ninth in population behind the states of California, New York, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan.

GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
