Honda is currently conducting research on a short-distance battery electric vehicle as a “ city commuter car. ” ( Earlier post.). But we’re studying the US market with a view to introducing this commuter car in the future. This compact system was designed for daily home refueling of a fuel cell electric vehicle.

Before turning us loose on the famed highways in the mountains above Los Angeles, Ford set up an untimed autocross at Irwindale Speedway that would allow us to get a sense of the car’s handling. Drive the car gently and the EcoBoost is quiet. Now, the sole transmission is a 10-speed automatic.
