Upon completion of the project, Kinder Morgan’s Harvey, Louisiana facility will serve as the primary hub where Neste will store a variety of raw materials including, for example, the used cooking oil it collects from more than 40,000 restaurants across the United States. At Neste’s option, the facility can be further expanded.

Darling International and a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation are taking initial steps towards the formation of a joint venture to build a facility capable of producing more than 10,000 barrels/day or (135 million gallons per year) of renewable diesel on a site adjacent to Valero’s St. Charles refinery near Norco, Louisiana.

Air Products will increase the supply of hydrogen to Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO), at Marathon’s Garyville, La. Air Products commercialized its Garyville hydrogen plant in late 2009 and has been supplying hydrogen via pipeline to Marathon’s refinery since 1993.

UOP LLC, a Honeywell company, signed an agreement to license technology to Emerald Biofuels LLC to produce Honeywell Green Diesel at a facility in Louisiana. International Alliance Group (IAG) will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project. In 2008, Honeywell’s UOP partnered with Ensyn Corp.
