CRI, founded in 2006 in Reykjavik, Iceland, is developing technology to produce renewable methanol from clean energy and recycled CO 2 emissions. The BIT researchers estimated that a 30% fuel-cost saving could be attained if methanol was burnt even though the price of crude oil has decreased by more than 50%.
