An advanced biofuel has a carbon footprint that is 50% or less of conventional gasoline and OBE plans to start the certification process by Q4 2010. Nitrogen in nutrients contribute to the formation of nitrous oxide (N 2 O)—a greenhouse gas approximately 300 times more potent than CO 2 on a mass basis over a 100-year period.
