Researchers at MIT and the Ford Motor Company have found that depending on the location, lightweight conventional vehicles could have a lower lifecycle greenhouse gas impact than electric vehicles, at least in the near term. Lightweight aluminum is now used in the Ford F-150 pickup truck, and in the all-electric Tesla sedans.

One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
