Nissan and the city of Seattle have joined forces with the belief that electric cars will offer one of the best solutions in the battle against carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. According to Seattle mayor Greg Nickels, the goal is to combine clean, green electricity with the city’s transportation system.

Slovenia, Iceland, the Netherlands, Ireland, India, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Germany and the United Kingdom all have 2030 deadlines. Japan has a 2035 deadline. Successful schemes should be designed to capture CO2, fuel economy, NOx and safety benefits. This includes Norway and South Korea, by 2025.

Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. The problem for the left is that NG is still a carbon based fuel (note: you are a carbon based lifeform and exhale 12 liters of CO2 a minute.).

It was a well thought out move by PSA Peugeot Citroen to sign an agreement with Mitsubishi to manufacture the vehicle in Europe after the i-MiEV enjoyed significant success on its launch in Japan this summer. However, the company can boast a number of exciting green concepts of its own.
