The Bosch plant in Bamberg, Germany, will supply the Feuerbach factory with the fuel-cell stack. In addition, Bosch is also planning to manufacture stacks for mobile applications in its US plant in Anderson, South Carolina. Bosch believes that only with hydrogen can there be a climate-neutral world.

Earlier this year the company announced the planned construction of a battery assembly line at its US plant outside Charleston, South Carolina. Last year, Volvo Cars signed long-term supply agreements with two leading global battery suppliers, CATL of China and LG Chem of South Korea.

Both initiatives form part of the climate action plan that Volvo Cars revealed this year. The 2025 plan is one tangible step towards Volvo Cars’ ambition of becoming a climate-neutral company by 2040. Already now, cars are transported from its China-based manufacturing plants to the Ghent port in Belgium by train two times a week.

The Polestar 3 will be built at the Volvo Cars plant in Charleson, South Carolina, and is intended to be one of the most climate-responsible cars ever built. Polestar also made a heat pump standard on the Polestar 3, helping with efficiency and range degradation, especially in colder climates. I’d love to hear from you!

The system is also linked to the climate control system to avoid heat stroke or hypothermia. A heat pump is included as standard, helping Polestar 3 utilize ambient heat for climate- and battery preconditioning. Initial deliveries from this factory are expected around the middle of 2024.
