My favorite part of this next CicLaVia is t he Bike Parade coming from my friends at Greenpeace and Sierra Club which they’re calling ROLL AGAINST COAL. In case you didn’t know, the City of Los Angeles still gets 40% of its electricity from coal-fired power plants, the dirtiest polluters and greenhouse gassers on the planet.

When I first met Elizabeth I had no idea that there were so many Tongan Americans living in large communities in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Dallas and other cities across the USA. Today all 3000 inhabitants of the Carteret Islands have been relocated as they become the first climate change refugees.

In the 15 months that have passed since I wrote the following, ALL the climate change news has gone from bad, to worse, to much worse than that. For the past three months I’ve been working night and day as the Chairman of the South Bay Los Angeles 350 Climate Action Group. Walk the walk why don’t you?

People are scared that they’ll get stuck and have no way of charging the batteries, hey I have an idea why not build a wind turbine on the roof that way as you drive the turbine spins and charges the battery. When Lutz first proposed creating an electric car in 2003, the idea "bombed" inside GM, he says. "I Kwong said Toyota is concerned PHEVs might just replace gas problems with more coal emissions, since the cars will require more electricity from utilities. The problems of changing to a plug-in fleet are not all technical.
