Taxi version of Mercedes-Benz B-Class with natural gas drive coming soon

Mercedes-Benz is presenting the taxi version of the B 200 Natural Gas Drive at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. From 2014 the B 200 Natural Gas Drive will also be available as a taxi version. COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST will feature as standard, further reducing the risk of a rear-end collision in a Mercedes-Benz taxi in future.

KCL study finds London air pollution from traffic improving, but continues to exceed limits in many parts of city

Overall, there was a decrease in total traffic between 2005 and 2014, mainly explained by the reduction in cars and taxis. Fitting new exhaust clean-up technology to older buses helped to curb nitrogen dioxide along some of London’s roads. However, despite the reduced traffic, levels of roadside pollutants did not decrease accordingly.

Boris to ban dirty old taxis

Taxis are currently responsible for around 35 per cent of road transport PM10 exhaust emissions in central London. Dirty air creates a deeply unpleasant feel to our city.
